Sport Dept Prompted to Give More Attention to Sport Club

Jakarta Sport and Youth Dept is prompted more serious about the fate of sports clubs in the capital. Because, all this time, there are many sports clubs that have received less attention thus they do not develop and dispersed.

"I prefer, the club to get more attention. All this time, we pay less attention to them," said Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama, at City Hall, Tuesday (10/4).

Basuki also wants sports coaching system in the capital to be modified so it can print talented athletes. In future, bonuses should also not only be distributed to athletes, but also sport clubs.

"I think the system should be changed. Not necessarily my way was right, but the old ways must be wrong. Because we rarely produce a world champion," he expressed.

Jakarta Sport and Youth Dept Head, Firmansyah admitted his dept's attention to the sport clubs is unoptimal because too focused on the regional training (Pelatda).

"We forget that Pelatda formed on the contribution of the club. So we went back to the front will turn the potential of the club," he finished.
